A return to the Chilterns, after a year's absence, and to this particular 10 mile walk after an interval of 14 years! Last done in November 2009, on the mobile, so it was badly in need of updating.

It was a pleasant, chill day, with little breeze as the walker left Chesham tube station, where the Chess Valley Walk was followed through Lowndes Park, and then into more open and wooded country. The Chiltern Link Path is then followed for the journey to Herbert Hole, where the walker diverts off, for lunch at St John The Baptist church, The Lee. A pub option also exists.

Thereafter, due to a shortage of time, this walker misses out the corner of Swan Bottom and Lee Gate to re-join the GPX track near Hunt's Green. Here the works of the HS2 'project' can be heard.

There's then some field crossings to South Heath, some road walking to Frith Hill and then the descent into Great Missenden.

A decent 9 miles in the end, due to the slight corner-cutting, with paths that were in reasonable order, considering the recent rain. The notes, and the GPX track, worked well.

A walk from Saturday Walkers Club Web site - Chesham to Great Missenden 30/11/18. You can find the walk, maps and instructions and others like it on this website https://www.walkingclub.org.uk

This is the bag - Fjallraven Abisko Friluft 35 Uncle Blue: Fjallraven Abisko Friluft 35 Uncle Blue. https://www.trekitt.co.uk/33353/products/fjallraven-abisko-friluft-35-uncle-blue.aspx

I also used the Viewranger App on my Iphone. You can download the GPS co-ordinates from the Saturday Walkers Club website, and then just follow the map on your phone which I found easier than reading instructions, but worth taking them as a back up, The Ordinance Survey app is similar. You can upgrade for about £20 a year and download 1:25,000 Landranger maps just on your phone in case you lose GPS.
