Naturist / Nudist Beaches in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland
Rhossili Bay - Gower Peninsula
Swansea
Near dunes at north end of large, wide, stunningly beautiful sandy beach backed by grass covered hills, with great sea views of Carmarthamshire coastline
Rhossili Bay is located on the western end of the Gower peninsula, west of Swansea in South Wales. Rhossili beach has 3 miles or so of sand and, while the southern end gets very busy, naturists are said use the northern part at quieter times.
Owing to the popularity of Rhossili Bay with textile beach users, many naturists prefer the space and seclusion found at the nearby Whiteford Sands - see visitor comments below.
Getting There

I have sunbathed nude at Rhossili in the dunes that back the Northern end of the beach. I usually find that the beach is too busy in fine weather to strip off completely but the dunes provide plenty of sheltered hollows where it would be safe to remain nude for the whole day. Whiteford is a great deal quieter than Rhossili and it's usually possible to sunbathe on the beach and swim without being surprised by clothed walkers.

In my experience the only regularly naturist portion of beach on West Gower was the northernmost part of Whitford Sands, half a mile short of the abandoned lighthouse at Whitford point. Rhossili Bay was always a bit marginal, especially on good weekends.

Rhossili Bay itself is a popular surfing bay and is backed by a Hillend camp site which has generous parking for other beachgoers and there are two large caravan sites on the Rhossili Burrows/Broughton Burrows headland. If you wish to use this beach you will probably need to remain in your secluded location.

...during busier times as there can be frequent clothed walkers, runners and surfers passing by. When the tide is lower, there are secluded, sandy coves accessible just around the corner (through Spaniard Rock) on the North facing tip of Rhossili Bay - This is much quieter, and we have spent many sunny mornings here naked for the duration of our visit - but avoid swimming at low tide here as there are tidal currents if you venture over waist depth.
