Length | 114.6 miles (184.4 km) |
---|---|
Toughness | 1 / 10 - just length |
Off Road | 100% - fairly good towpath |
Features | This canal has a good towpath throughout. It starts on the Thames near Brentford (train station) in West London, and heads west to Heathrow and Uxbridge, before heading north to Watford, Milton Keyned and eventually Birmimgham. You can connect with the start from central London by following the Thames Path, or the Regents branch of the canal that passes through Camden and Islington. |
Travel | Once it leaves London, the canal is followed by the Euston - Birmingham main line. A good place to head for is Roade (Stoke Gurney on the ccanal) - the limit of the Netword Card area, just south of Northampton |
