A new section of riverside path (a dead end for now) is open on the south side of the "blocked railway bridge" in Earlsfield, along with picnic tables and a new riverside restaurant - Louis Earlsfield https://louisearlsfield.com/
A new development looks ready on the north side of the railway line.
There is a design for a new riverside foot bridge under the railway bridge to link them, however, as of Oct-23, there is no funding for it.

Walk check. No changes.
Future route improvements: The "Earlsfield diversion developments" are progressing on both sides of the rail line. Everything else is minor. No sign on work starting on the Wandsworth 1-way system alms houses. TFL/Wandsworth are looking at improving the 1-way system, making part of it pedestrian. The (already pedestrian) route from there to the Thames should be improved. The short temporary diversion around several riverside blocks for cladding removal is still there.

Route check. New developments on either side of the no-access railway line causing the "via Earlsfield town centre" diversion give hope of a better riverside route. The Thames path has improved (a development finished) but got temporarily worse (cladding removal from some blocks just finished). Lots of birds. The least interesting bit was a playing fields style park by Wansdworth town centre.

gps file updated with
- a simpler route near the start (follows a tarmac walk/.cycle path - the more complex route along then canal, then across scrubland, is left as an option)
- the new shortcut after wandsworth (there will be a newer one when building work is finished)
there will be a better route just as you join the thames, once a new riverside development is finished

Points 6 and 7 should say
6. Cross to the right bank at the next bridge , head north (veering right, away from the river bank), crossing North Street after 100m. NB .....
7. 150m after crossing North Street ....

Sections 6 and 7 did not make much sense to me.
Passed under a road bridge (not a railway bridge) and then found the rail bridge 500m diagonally across the open ground after this.
Wandle Trail missing link in Earlsfield.
