Nailed to a tree in Arundel Park: "High on the hill, let my ashes lye neath Stormy Clouds or Sun drenched Sky up there my heart takes wing Just to hear the Skylark Sing In Sight of the rolling hills And the Sea. Let me lye in peace eternally" Evidently anonymous; an epitaph, perhaps? 11 August '07.

It was a very bright hot sunny day, one of those rare days in English summers that everyone looks wistfully back to when the days start getting short, cold and grey. Not great for photography, but hell I had a good walk and the strong light worked well for the contrasty shadows in this shot.
I just liked how the combination of the wind flattening the top of the wheat and the way the light fell made it look soft and inviting. Or maybe I was just tired....
