A very good 10.5 miles from Box Hill station to Dorking Deepdene station on a reasonable late October afternoon. It was quite mild, though a tad breezy, which sometimes comes across on commentary.

After the ascent of Burford Spur to reach Salomon's Memorial, for some fine views, the walker quickly descends into the Mole Valley. Following the Pilgrim's Way, initially, passing Brockham Quarry and Betchworth station, the walker is soon at the village church for lunch.

Thereafter, there are some pleasant views of the earlier section from above an arm of the Mole prior to reaching another church and the village green at Brockham, where the famous Bonfire is currently being built for November 5th.

Following the 'Coach Road', past Betchworth golf course, and along a section of the 'Riverside walk', the walker is soon back at Dorking Deepdene station.

A varied walk of fine views from up on high and pleasant valley walking. The paths today were a little slippy in places on the chalk, but not too muddy.
