SWC Free Walk 35, Cuxton to Sole Street. 12/2/12amib, Feb-12
Another 11.7 miles in snow-clad environs...making hay while the sun shines, I guess.
Setting out from Cuxton, the walker is soon ascending to join The North Downs Way, which is followed across fields and through woods all the way down to Great Buckland. The mists were against me today
but there's still evidence of some great views to be had.
From Great Buckland, the route follows The Wealdway for lunch at Luddesdown. Afterwards, there's an ascent to Cobham to see a pub where Dickens used to drink. Thereafter, it's a descent across fields for the return to Sole Street.
A very nice walk, despite the mist, which is likely to be particularly pleasant when the bluebells are out. Shame about the plethora of pylons and the dead pony though...
