  • Leigh to Sevenoaks. 18/12/11.

Probably my last walk of 2011...a shortish walk for a short day. Around nine miles through the undulating hills of Kent. From Leigh (pronounced, 'Lie'), it's mainly walking across fields, and a few woods, to the lunchtime stop at the village of Underriver. By this time, almost two-thirds of the walk has been completed.

After lunch, there's a steady climb up to around 200 metres to join the Greensand Way and the walk into The National Trust's Knole Park. After sampling some lovely parkland (no deer today, but the resident parakeets were about), it's on through Sevenoaks to the station.

A very pleasant walk for a short day. Can be quite muddy in places, particularly when the farmers plough the footpath away!
