South Downs Way along a chalk ridge in the morning, remote Rodmell for lunch, then back up and over the downs to the coast. Undercliff path, or bus to Brighton
I love this view. It opens up upon reaching the South Downs Way coming from Kingston. Today it was just magic. A shower had passed just 10 minutes earlier, but then the green grass was shining in the backlight. Was almost blinded by the sun when taking this shot so unfortunately messed up the exposure a bit.
One can see starlings swarming around the pier before they go to roost. Unfortunately I was a tad too far away for the spectacle. Well, some other time.

I was most bemused by this flock of sheep which weaved its way in an orderly line from one end of the field to the other. There were no sheepdogs or farmers in sight to keep them in line and there seemed no obvious reason for them walking in curves rather than in a straight line. Surely this cannot be normal behaviour!
All the way to Brighton, along the beach, people had spelt messages and built 'teepee's with timber washed up from the Ice Prince, which sank recently near Dorset. Saltdean. Lewes to Saltdean via Rodmell
