A loop to Rodmell for lunch, then up and across the South Downs. Finishes by the sea.

Another re-walk of a former two-part video that needed updating, albeit that the first 4 miles are new terrain as this was originally filmed as a Lewes to Seaford walk in 2010.
This 11.5 mile version was undertaken on a decent afternoon, with sunny intervals, but a fairly strong southerly breeze, though it hasn't affected commentary too badly.
The new terrain is around the water meadows of the Sussex Ouse, where the season's first Cuckoo is heard, and the Reed or Sedge Warbler (unsure?) dominates.
An early lunch is had at St Peter's church, Rodmell, with delightful views, but 9 miles remain to be walked thereafter.
The National Trust's Monk's House (former country retreat of Virgina Woolf) is passed, and, later, another St Peter's church in Southease.
On the South Down's Way, passing the station again, it's up to the high point of Itford Hill (around 500 ft). There are great views from up on high, including coastal, all the way across The Downs to Bishopstone. This walker deviated slightly, to get better, lofty views of this village, and its church (St Andrew's).
The coastal town of Seaford is soon reached, and, after a section along the promenade, the station.
A very decent walk that has been improved with the new variant, per this walker. Plenty of birdsong, and pleasant weather, made this a fine afternoon's walking.
P.S. The former 'adult's only' hotel, 'The Buckle', is now For Sale at £2 million!
A delightful 13 mile walk of contrasting scenery through the East Sussex countryside; starting at Lewes, the walker follows the River Ouse before ascending the Downs for lunch.
(Sound quality affected by wind, even with 'canceller' on! N.B. Panasonic).
Continuing on after lunch on the windy Downs, the walker continues along the South Downs Way for a short while prior to descending down to the village of Bishopstone.
From there, it's on to the esplanade at Seaford and shortly afterwards, the station.
