UK Day 6-7 and week 2

  • The week should start on a reasonable note in many areas, with a fair amount of dry and bright weather, especially in southern parts of the UK.
  • Further north and west there will always be more in the way of cloud with a risk of some showers or spells of rain at times.
  • Through the rest of the period it looks likely that fairly typical conditions will dominate across all parts, with northern and western areas often most at risk of outbreaks of rain, while further south and east will see the best of the drier and brighter interludes.
  • There is a risk of showers even here though which at this time of year are prone to being heavy with occasional thunder.
  • Temperatures will probably remain a little above average.

UK Week 3 and 4

  • Similar weather conditions to those of the preceding few days are most likely to characterise this period to the end of May; a mixture of unsettled periods with rain and showers and settled interludes in-between.
  • Through the first half of June, the chances of above and below average rainfall are evenly balanced.
  • There is a slightly higher likelihood of above average temperatures compared with below average temperatures, such that the chance of hot spells, although still very small, is slightly higher than normal too.
